Third year: specialization & professional integration

While the 1st and 2nd years of the training in cinema offered by CinéCréatis are intended as generalist courses, and allow students to approach all aspects and professions in the field of cinema, the 3rd year of the Audiovisual Director-Creator program (level II RNCP title) stands out for its commitment to allowing students to prepare their professional project. in this perspective, they are led to choose a specialization: Production, Image, or Post-production. They will be able to thoroughly study their discipline and its multiple aspects, in order to make it their own occupation. This 3rd year of the training program aims at leading each student to an even more autonomous practice, as close as possible to his / her aspirations, and with a view to professional integration.

1st year

2nd year
Placing technique and professional practice at the heart of its training, CinéCréatis intends the second year as a complete immersion in the world of cinema.


3rd year
The third year is a true lever for students to deepen their knowledge of advanced technologies and to validate their professional project. It is an open door to all areas in the film industry. It is the last step before the acquisition of the “Audiovisual Director-Creator” RNCP title (level II).

Training programme

In the 3rd year of the audiovisual training, students deepen their knowledge of advanced digital technologies by specializing in one of the following 3 majors: Production, Image and Post-production. After focusing on a generalist apprenticeship during the first 2 years of training, CinéCréatis School of Cinema intends to allow them to specialize in the field in which they plan to pursue a professional career. In this way, they prepare their arrival on the professional market in the best possible way, acquiring all the tools necessary for their success.

Therefore, this year is more than any other the year in which the students will have the opportunity to apply the skills they have acquired so far, and to deepen their knowledge. In addition to discovering even more deeply the specialization they have chosen, the students will work on an end-of-study project, which will be the result of the synthesis of their competencies. During 3 weeks of production, they will develop a script, consider its staging, and the financial and human resources required for the project. Then will follow the shooting, on which they will work intensively for 8 weeks, and during which they will have to deal with issues related to shooting, sound, light and other machines. Finally, the post-production stage will follow, and will be the occasion during 2 months to complete the video editing, integrate special effects if necessary, and solve any sound problems… In short, in a few months, students will have gained extensive experience in the production of an audiovisual work, in its entirety.

This real professional experience will be enhanced by a 13-week internship in a company. 13 weeks during which they will work alongside active professionals on real issues related to the production and direction of a fiction film, an advertising spot, a documentary film… A very concrete way to further their discovery of the film industry’s reality and to anticipate their future in it. This internship in a company can even lead to the recruitment of the student at the end of this post-baccalauréat training.

Educational purpose

The third year of the “Audiovisual Director-Creator” training program aims to prepare students professionally and give them all the necessary tools to enter the job market. In addition to helping them acquire technical skills and develop their artistic identity, the school also strives to help students build their network. The presentation of their graduation film in front of a jury of professionals, as well as the internship in a company scheduled as part of this final year of the program, are two opportunities to meet working professionals, and to interact with environments that they are likely to integrate once they enter the job market. Indeed, it is through the network that many students will find their first job in the audiovisual industry.

Once the students graduate, they will enter the job market as assistant directors, production assistants, stage managers, sound engineers, lighting and camera operators, video editors or even FX operators. They will then be able to demonstrate their technical and artistic skills in their chosen field, while relying on more generalist knowledge.

And this is the strength of the post-Baccalauréat training offered by CinéCréatis: thanks to a generalist curriculum leading to a specialization in the final year, students will be able to integrate perfectly into production teams, communicate optimally with the rest of the staff, and adjust according to the problems encountered by their colleagues.

In practice

The 3rd year of this audiovisual training is accessible after the 2nd year of the cycle. To access this 3-year training, certified by a level 6 RNCP title (Bac+3), candidates must hold a Baccalauréat (all streams), present their academic record, and undergo a motivational interview.

At the end of this post-Baccalauréat training, students can apply to audiovisual groups, production companies, production agencies, companies specializing in digital technology, for positions as assistant director, production assistant, scriptwriter, cameraman, lighting director, sound assistant, or editor. They will also be able to create their own audiovisual project (documentary film, short film, feature film…).

In the 3rd year, tutorials are an opportunity to learn about every kind of format and style. The end-of-study short film on which the students will work throughout the 2nd semester will be the realization of this: presented before a jury of professionals, it will be a great tool for students to show their skills, and to position themselves on the job market.
