FAQ deconfinement

The Government has set a date of 11 May 2020 for the launch of the first phase of the phased decommissioning plan.

Our school is affected by this, and we have listed below the questions asked by students and parents, with answers to each of them, to help prevent a second wave of spread of the COVID-19 virus.

To make it easier for you to read, we’ve divided your questions about deconfinement and returning to school into broad themes.

Orals, exams and juries

Is the end-of-studies jury still in place?

Yes, the examinations will still take place on these dates:

  • Nantes jury on 10 September
  • Lyon jury on 10 September

Adjustments may have to be made to take account of health constraints. Please note that we are not yet in a position to list these. We will keep you informed as we go along.

We are keeping a close eye on how the situation develops, and are already working on a number of specific organisations to take account of possible health adjustments.

Do I have to come back to school to take the orals? Are they compulsory?

If your orals are to be held face-to-face in June, it is not compulsory for you to be present in person. You should therefore contact your educational director. In any case, if you are unable to attend in person, your orals will be held remotely. Passing the orals is essential to validate the year.

I’m confined to my parents’ home and need to go to school for the exams, but it’s more than 100 km away: what can I do?

A state certificate has been created for this purpose:
“Journeys between the place of residence and the school made by a person attending school there or accompanying a person attending school and journeys required to attend examinations or competitive examinations“.
The official certificate is available on the website at the following address: https: //www.interieur.gouv.fr/Actualites/L-actu-du-Ministere/Deconfinement-Declaration-de-deplacement

Important: please also bring proof of address and your student card.

Materials and equipment

Is the equipment loaned by the school (in particular the camera) still available and under what conditions, and for how long?

No, all government health protocols stipulate that exchanges of equipment, loans and the taking out of equipment are prohibited. We are therefore following these directives until the restrictive health conditions are lifted.

Back to lessons and back to school

I’d like to catch up on the work I’ve done during the lockdown: will classes continue this summer?

All the information was sent to you by email (student + family). Please refer to this email, as there are special cases for each class and each course.

Is it possible for me to come back to work at the school to use the computer equipment to get on with my work?

As things stand at the moment, we are not authorised to validate the arrival of students in this case, at least until 2 June. We have made arrangements to receive students from 2 June onwards under the health conditions imposed, but this will be subject to confirmation from the authorities and your educational management.

If I were to return to my school to complete some end-of-cycle work, what protective measures would be put in place?

Please refer to the question: “What hygiene conditions are planned for our return to the classroom? ”

Will my school be open in July so that I can finish a production with my team?

As things stand at the moment, we are not authorised to approve the arrival of students in this case, at least until 2 June. We have made arrangements to receive students from 2 June onwards under the health conditions imposed, but this will be subject to confirmation from the authorities and your educational department.

When can we collect our work and models?

As things stand at present, we are not authorised to approve the arrival of students in this case, at least until 2 June. We have made arrangements to receive students from 2 June in the required sanitary conditions, but this will be subject to confirmation from the authorities.

In any event, please contact your teaching departments for any requests you may have.

What hygiene conditions will be in place for students returning to the classroom?

  • Marking on the ground, both around and inside the establishments, to show the physical distance to be respected (1 m);
  • An organised pathway within the premises, to minimise the number of people crossing and coming into contact with each other on the site;
  • A reminder of barrier measures and actions through posters and daily verbal communication;
  • Adaptation of on-site teaching schedules;
  • On the day of the oral examination at the school, supply of alternative type I fabric masks (suitable for use in public), together with a visor. The student must keep and maintain this equipment (including regular washing of the masks and cleaning of the visors). This equipment must be kept for possible re-use at the start of the next academic year;
  • Daily temperature checks using non-contact thermometers. Any case of abnormally high temperature will be reported to the person concerned, who will be sent home immediately and advised to contact a doctor;
  • In addition to the daily maintenance carried out in our schools, which will of course continue, a specific disinfection protocol has been put in place.
    This includes :

    • Dispensers equipped with hydro-alcoholic solutions and soap are freely available in our buildings;
    • Cleaning of washrooms and points of contact (such as handrails, door handles, light switches) every 2 hours by dedicated staff, with a record of the shifts carried out;
    • Disinfection by fogging, at least once a day, of classrooms and common areas by professional disinfectants.

Work placements

Are internships being abolished? Are they compulsory?

Internships have not been abolished. However, if they are possible, they will be carried out. If you are able to do so, and this depends on your host company. As the health situation is complex, we understand that not all students will be able to find a placement under these conditions. If you do a shorter placement, or none at all, this will not prevent your diploma from being validated.

My work placement is cancelled by the company: will I be penalised?

Please refer to the question “Are internships cancelled? Are they compulsory?

Start of the 2020/2021 school year

Will the new school year still take place in September as originally planned?

As things stand at present, we are not authorised to approve the arrival of students in this case, at least until 2 June. We have made arrangements to welcome students from 2 June onwards under the health conditions imposed, but this will be subject to confirmation from the authorities and your school management.

For Montpellier: will the new school year start on the Campus Créatif site in September 2020?

The start of the academic year in 2020/2021 will be at the Campus Créatif. The date for the start of the new school year will be given at a later date by the educational services, if the health situation allows.

Will we be going back to school earlier in September (early September)?

As the situation currently stands, we are in the process of organising the start of the new school year. It is likely that some sections will be able to return early to catch up on certain courses. However, we are not in a position to give a general answer to this question. You will need to contact your teaching department in June.
