Ecoles Créatives Nantes – Conference on “the art of efficiency without stress”: Hélène Weber gave students the opportunity to identify the levers that will enable them to take action on their organisation.
Hélène Weber, psychologist, sociologist and teacher, gave a distance conference on the Zoom platform at the end of November on the theme of “Working efficiently without stress”. The conference was a great success, with around fifty people registering online.
CinéCréatis & ESMA are committed to ensuring the well-being of their students and facilitating their studies, and will be offering them the keys to success through a series of meetings in 2020-2021, covering a range of topics targeted at student issues (well-being, health, use of social networks, etc.).
As we all know, the transition from secondary to higher education involves a change in status and a change in work habits that are not necessarily easy to negotiate. So how do you manage stress and optimise your study methods in your new working environment?
Hélène Weber, a sociologist and trainer who specialises in these issues, has opened up the debate on these central questions by proposing a host of practical solutions.
Adapting your working methods to the demands of higher education was the leitmotif of the evening, during which the speaker captivated her audience and interacted with them using fun, interactive tools (polls, word clouds, etc.).
Hélène Weber began by listing the difficulties frequently encountered by university students: work rushed through at the last minute, memory problems, difficulties in optimising revision, the need for specific support in certain subjects, lack of attention in class, time-consuming inorganisation that regularly generates anxiety and stress.
Every student has experienced, to a greater or lesser extent, these early warning signs of potential difficulties.
Hélène Weber has put forward a number of guidelines to help students learn, organise and motivate themselves. The main aim is to help them adapt to the demands of higher education ” through innovative, highly effective work methods that provide an astonishing boost to their ability to understand, memorise and think “.
During the evening, she proposed a methodology and a four-point programme:
- focus your attention to centre yourself and concentrate ;
- define objectives to help you take action;
- prioritise to focus on the essentials;
- Adopt an overview of your commitments and plan your tasks.
In this way, she was able to respond to the day-to-day problems faced by the students, who were delighted with the rich learning experience.
Other conferences are to come:
- Log-in: e-reputation and internet use
- Autonomy and the first steps in adult life
- Self-esteem
Reminder: Conferences take place in the evening, registration required.
