Validation of prior learning and skills

Validation of prior learning and skills (VAE) enables you to obtain certification based on your experience, without having to go back to training. This certification may be a diploma, a title or a certificate of professional qualification, which must be registered in the Répertoire national des certifications professionnelles (RNCP).

Who is concerned by VAE?

The scheme is open to all people, not just those already in work (art. L6111-1 of the amended Labour Code). The scheme is open to any experience enabling the acquisition of skills directly linked to the targeted certification, regardless of the type of activity or category of person.

The scheme is open to employees working in the private or public sector, jobseekers, volunteers, elected representatives and trade union officials, family carers, students, etc.

The different stages of your VAE

  • Step 1: Request an appointment

Requests can be made by e-mail: vae@ecolescreatives.com

The candidate will be contacted within 3 weeks to arrange an information meeting with a VAE mentor.

  • Stage 2: Orientation phase

This orientation phase takes the form of a meeting during which the candidate presents his or her background, project and objectives. The VAE procedures are explained and the skills repository is presented.

  • Stage 3: Admissibility phase

Once the interview has taken place and the project has been validated, the candidate completes and sends in, along with the contractual documents, their application for admissibility (Livret 1): Validation of Acquired Experience (VAE) – Demande de recevabilité (Form 12818*02) | Service-public.fr.

An internal VAE committee meets to examine the application and rule on its admissibility.

Once the CERFA has been received, notification of eligibility is sent by e-mail to the candidate within 2 weeks.

  • Stage 4: Drawing up booklet 2

Once admissibility has been confirmed, the VAE advisor sends the candidate the VAE Booklet 2.

It takes an average of one year to compile and submit the Livret 2.

The internal VAE commission meets to study the Livret 2 and rule on its admissibility.

As soon as the VAE booklet 2 has been received, the candidate is notified of its admissibility by email within one month.

  • Stage 5: Oral certification

If the application is accepted, notification of acceptance is sent by e-mail with the invitation to the oral presentation before the panel of professionals.

  • Stage 6: Assessment: interview with the jury

Candidates present their professional experience (validation file) during an interview with a panel made up of a majority of working professionals.

At the end of the deliberation, the jury reports its decision and notifies the candidate of :

    ▪ Total validation: all the skill blocks are validated, and the candidate receives certification.

    ▪ Partial validation: one or more blocks are validated, the candidate is notified of the blocks acquired or of the VAE’s non-validation, and of the panel’s recommendations.
