Exceptional masterclass with Claude Lelouch and Philippe Azoulay
On Wednesday 30 March, directors Philippe Azoulay and Claude Lelouch gave an exceptional masterclass to discuss the documentary “Tourner pour vivre”.
Students from CinéCréatis Montpellier discussed with the director of “Un homme et une femme” his rich career and his passion for cinema.
An exceptional meeting
To meet Claude Lelouch is to meet French and international cinema. For nearly two hours, CinéCréatis students were treated to a real lesson in cinema and life.
Curious, hyperactive, in love with life, people and cinema… these are the strongest aspects of Claude Lelouch’s personality.
Wednesday 30 March saw an intense exchange between two great directors. Their complicity and generosity moved our students in particular.
An extraordinary documentary
For almost a decade, Philippe Azoulay followed Claude Lelouch in his daily life, his doubts and his various projects and creative processes. His documentary “Tourner pour vivre” is a unique testament to France’s cinematic heritage. It brings us face to face with some of the world’s most famous actors, as well as giving us a glimpse into the private lives of some of the greatest.
CinéCréatis students were able to attend a national preview screening of the documentary at the Gaumont Multiplexe.
National release of “Tourner pour vivre” on 11 May.

A look back at the masterclass in the Montpellier studio
All the first and second year classes were present. After a look back at the respective careers of Claude Lelouch and Philippe Azoulay, our students were able to ask all their unfiltered questions about the film-making profession, the film industry and its development. They discussed the common passion that linked them all that day: cinema.
