SYNOPSIS
In 200 BC, Marcus, a Roman soldier and the illegitimate son of a general, loses his brother in battle. Following this tragedy, he is given a dangerous mission to prove his worth and win his father's recognition.
Synopsis
Bastardis is a peplum, with intense battle scenes and a tense atmosphere that combines family and political issues. The film takes us back to ancient Rome, where honour and family ties are fundamental values. The character of Marcus, torn between his desire to break away from the image of the rejected son and his aspiration to succeed in a world where his father’s legacy is a crushing weight, is the guiding light of this drama.
Through this plot, the film tackles universal themes such as war, loss and the quest for independence. Marcus’ mission is more than just a military challenge; it becomes a way for him to prove his worth to his father, to forge an identity in a demanding world, and to decide whether to accept or reject the legacy that has been passed on to him.
