Behind the scenes of the advert

Behind this commercial lies a particularly rigorous design process. From the outset, the team sought to build a coherent project capable of conveying a strong message while remaining accessible to as many people as possible. The main intention was to transform a negative perception deeply rooted in the collective imagination into a positive and engaging vision.

The script is based on a repetitive structure that directly serves the message. Each scene focuses on an injection situation that is experienced as excessive, almost absurd, in order to create a comic effect. This repetition sets the pace and prepares the viewer for the final breakdown. This narrative choice is part of a desire to make the message readable and immediate, particularly in the short format of advertising.

Setting the scene

The staging has been designed to accompany this mechanic. Most of the shots are still, allowing the actors and situations to express themselves fully. The use of wide shots to set the scene, followed by closer-ups and close-ups of the reactions, gives visual structure to each sequence and reinforces the comic impact.

The work of the cinematographer was essential in the construction of the image. The choice of natural light for the everyday scenes anchors the film in a familiar reality. Conversely, the final scene benefits from a softer, more reassuring lighting treatment. The aim was to portray the Maison du Don as a welcoming, almost reassuring space, avoiding visual codes that were too cold or medical.

Set design

Particular attention has also been paid to the settings. Each location was selected for its ability to evoke an identifiable situation. The hall of a building, the forest or the office all help to create a believable world that is close to the viewer’s everyday life. Props, such as the cactus or the drawing pin, play a key role in setting up the comedy.

Post-production

Editing is another central element of the project. Inspired by the codes of contemporary advertising, it is based on a fast pace and a succession of short shots. This choice captures attention from the very first seconds and maintains a constant dynamic. The editing work also had to adapt to different versions of the spot, which represented a real challenge for the team.

Technical aspects of production

Technically, the project was carried out with limited resources. The tight budget, limited filming time and logistical challenges meant that organisation had to be extremely rigorous. The final scene, shot in a Maison du Don, required a great deal of coordination due to the number of people on set.

Despite these constraints, the team was able to take advantage of every situation to enhance the quality of the film. This ability to adapt demonstrates real know-how and an understanding of the realities of the business.

Beyond the technical aspects, this project was also a powerful human experience. The collaboration between the various divisions, the communication and the involvement of everyone were decisive factors in the success of the spot. This collective effort enabled us to transform a simple idea into an accomplished production, capable of meeting the expectations of a major institutional player.
