Synopsis:
Inside a council flat, Noor, a young student in her twenties, is busy with the various household chores requested by her mother, Fatma, who has left for work. Hidden behind large, baggy, drab clothes, the teenager does everything automatically. Washing. Tidy. Repair. All the while keeping an eye on her little brother Sofiane. In the middle of her work, a phone call disrupts the balance of her routine. On the other end of the line, her friend Dihya asks her to join her at a student party.
Normally conscientious and always obedient to her mother’s requests, Noor agrees to go out for the first time. That evening, the young woman left her home as quietly as possible. She joins Dihya and her classmates in a lively shared flat. The music accompanies the young people as they smoke, drink and chat. Noor looks around, intimidated by this environment she knows so little about. Initially tense, Noor lets herself be carried away by the festive atmosphere and imitates her friend when she takes a shot.
On the way home, the young woman tried to make as little noise as possible, despite her slight drunkenness. Shoes in hand, she heads for the bathroom of her flat, only to be surprised by her mother. In a panic, Fatma assailed her with questions.
An argument breaks out between the two women. Fatma is intolerant of her daughter’s misbehaviour, while Noor can no longer stand her mother’s reproaches. The tension mounts. Words fly. Anger rises and so does the tone, eventually waking Sofiane, and the argument ends without resolution.
The next day, despite the argument, Noor and Fatma share a moment of complicity and make up.
