Pas'sation is a fascinating documentary directed by Tom Marcelle, exploring the world of artisanal shoemaking in Lyon, where tradition blends with contemporary influences.
Synopsis
La cordonnerie du vieux lyon” is a craftsman’s workshop that’s going strong in its own way! Hervé Dworwiczak retired in 2024, and in this documentary we meet him in the last year of his 30-year career.
Claire Angleys, a sneaker customiser with a proven track record in Amsterdam, is taking over the business, adding her vision and talent.
We began by showing the different materials used by the two craftsmen. Alongside their endearing and mutually enriching relationship, my team and I wanted to provide a point of view on the changes in artistic direction, in line with a new clientele, brought about by Claire while retaining the experience passed on by Hervé.
