Sentence is a hard-hitting film combining drama and thriller, born of Clara Pastour’s personal pain. Inspired by the tragic story of her sister Eugénie, who was abused and left without justice, the director transforms her anger and powerlessness into an intense cinematic work.
The film follows a man trapped in a nightmare with no way out, turning the tables and questioning the notion of justice. Shot in an oppressive atmosphere, Sentence is a powerful emotional experience for its cast and crew. Buoyed by alarming figures on violence against women, it is a cry of revolt against impunity and a form of cinematic resistance.
Synopsis
One night, a man wakes up on the floor of a car park. The place was deserted, he was injured and all his belongings were gone. Disorientated, the man immediately starts looking for a way out, sinking deeper and deeper into the trap that has been set for him.
