Resistance at the Bergerie

At the height of the Second World War, two Nazi soldiers come to requisition milk from an isolated farm. But behind the apparent hospitality of the shepherdess Colette lies a witch who punishes violent men by turning them into beasts. When one of the soldiers mysteriously disappears, the other leaves convinced that he has deserted… unaware that his comrade is now just another goat.

Written by first-year students at CinéCréatis Nantes, Impasse de la Bergerie is a blend of historical narrative, cruel tale and political fable. The film denounces the violence of power and celebrates resistance in all its forms, while playing on the contrast between realism and fantasy.

impasse de la bergerie '

Impasse de la Bergerie turns a historical episode into an allegory: denouncing the violence of power, showing the mechanisms of domination and celebrating popular resistance under the Occupation. Through the figure of Colette, the shepherdess witch, the film blends realism and fantasy to remind us that justice can be born even in the most ordinary situations, and that those who dehumanise end up punished themselves.
