Synopsis

The late 90s.
From one rental to another, Paul lives the routine of his video store, alone but very involved. Then one evening, at closing time, a mysterious woman asks him to identify the contents of a shocking untitled video cassette…

A propos

High Definition is a psychological thriller directed by Baptiste Turbé. It lasts around 15 minutes and its main theme raises the following question: Is the past indelible?

The short film brought together more than 30 students from the 3rd year of film studies, who worked for 3 months of pre-production, 8 days of shooting and 2 months of post-production to create a quality film.

Following in the footsteps of director M. Knight Shyamalan in his films Sixth Sense (1999), Unbreakable (2000) and Sign (2002), the film tells the story of a man who has forgotten who he is.

The short film is set in the world of VHS, the historic star of video.

Casting

Valérie Pastre (aka Adèle)

Actor and voice-over artist, Valérie left her business studies at the age of 23 to redirect her energies towards her passions, theatre and image. She attended courses at the Cours Florent and the Pygmalion studio, and then went on to train with the American coach Jack Waltzer. It was at this point that she began acting in short films and lending her voice to various projects.

Nicolas de Boisse (alias Paul)

Born in Lyon on the Croix Rousse plateau, he grew up there until he was twenty. After following a classic engineering career path, he set off to do development work all over the world, travelling to one destination after another.but every day on his way to work he asks the same question: ” what is the one thing that would really make me want to go to work this morning?“It was in Bangkok in 2012 that he realised what drives him, what he loves to do: acting! Back in Lyon, he enrolled in a drama school. There he spent 18 months learning the actor’s trade. He graduated from the school in January and has now been taking part in short films on a voluntary basis for two years, always with the ambition of turning his passion for acting into a job that will make him happy.
