A film that celebrates love and memories
Mon Soleil tells the story of Arthur, who as a child spent his days playing in his grandfather’s painting studio. Years later, he finds the place abandoned, just like the old man, now in a wheelchair and suffering from loneliness. Arthur decides to offer him one last moment of magic…
Inspired by the director’s own experience, the film is a poetic drama about transmission, the end of life and the beauty of human bonds. It seeks to convey the emotions that accompany the decline of a loved one: guilt, tenderness, and all the complexities of this support.
A film set in Brittany
The film will be shot on 6 and 7 December 2025 in and around Douarnenez, a region close to the director’s heart.
The sets will combine country roads, hills and a painter’s studio, conceived as a character in its own right, first bathed in light and nature, then frozen in time.
A young Breton team on the rise
The project brings together around twenty young film professionals who have recently graduated, mainly from Cinécréatis Nantes, and who hail from Brittany. Accustomed to collaborative shoots, they see this short film as a major opportunity to make their mark in the film industry.
At the head of the team is Dylan Gonidou, 21, from the Bigouden region of France, who has already written and directed several short films and now works between Paris and Brittany. After graduating in 2025, he is now working as a camera assistant, electrician and freelance director.
The Nikon Film Festival: a renowned springboard
Created in 2009, the Nikon Film Festival gives thousands of amateur and professional filmmakers the chance to present a film on a set theme.
Some of the films are screened at the Grand Rex in front of a prestigious jury. For the team, taking part in this competition represents a decisive step in their career.
Call for partners: supporting young creative talent
With an estimated budget of around €4,000, the team is looking for financial and logistical partners (food, accommodation, transport, equipment). Every contribution counts in providing the best shooting conditions and increasing the film’s chances of achieving excellence.
Corporate partners will benefit from visibility on the poster, in the credits and on the project’s networks, with exposure that can last several years thanks to the festival’s platform.
