On the morning of 17 February 2025, our second and third year students were lucky enough to attend an exceptional conference hosted by Théo, a CinéCreatis graduate, inventor and new technology enthusiast. For three hours, he shared his experiences and answered the students’ many questions.
During the meeting, Théo began by presenting his flagship invention, the Stemirax, a revolutionary device that captures images of exceptional quality. He explained in detail the theoretical workings of this invention and showed the students the types of incredible images he is able to produce using this technology. The students were particularly enthralled by the demonstration and asked many questions, seeking to understand the creative and technological process behind the scenes.
The students’ interest was not limited to the technical aspects of Stemirax. Many also wanted to know more about Théo’s career as a CinéCreatis graduate, in particular the choices he has made throughout his career. They asked him for valuable advice on the attitude and strategy to adopt both during their studies and once they had graduated. Théo stressed the importance of perseverance, curiosity and the ability to innovate, all essential qualities for success in the film industry.
In addition to his main invention, Théo also presented another of his creations: the Magic Shutter. This technology aroused great interest among the students, who appreciated the diversity and originality of their speaker’s inventions.
Practical workshop: Students experiment with Stemirax in a real-life situation
In the afternoon, the activity took on a more practical dimension, reserved for third-year Image option students. They were given the opportunity to mount the Stemirax on a camera and see for themselves how this innovative device transforms the shooting process. This was an opportunity for students to familiarise themselves with the equipment, experiment with new filming techniques and understand how these technologies can enrich their creative approach to production.
The day was a real source of inspiration for our students, who not only learned from an industry expert, but also had the opportunity to project themselves into the future by exploring the infinite possibilities offered by technological innovation in the world of film.
We would like to thank Théo for his generosity and availability, and hope that he will continue to inspire our students for their future projects!
