Amandine Jarnoux

Daily passion

Career path

Having joined CinéCréatis in 2017, Amandine started out as aproduction assistant on documentary films for Arte. She soon decided to broaden her horizons and went freelance, in particular to “rediscover the pleasure of directing”. Together with photographer Jérôme Jusse, she set up her own audiovisual company, Nwes Production.

A keen traveller, she specialises in destination films, working on behalf of travel agencies, tourism professionals and institutions (Le Routard, Copains de Voyages, Europ’Raid, Mairie de Bègles, Mairie de Lacanau, etc.).

In 2018, she trained as a professional drone pilot, adding a new string to her bow. Her philosophy?

I’m the kind of person who’s interested in everything. In fact, if I had one piece of advice to give to students, it would be to take on everything there is to take on, even if it’s a bit out of their field. It will only bring them good things!

As for her plans, she should soon be heading for new lands, with Spain, Prague, Cuba and Thailand in her sights. Stay tuned!

A delicate subject treated with humour

During her studies at the Nantes film school, Amandine worked with Mélanie Dupuis-Roy on the film “Coeur de Chou”. The film, made in 2017, tackled Alzheimer’s disease with tact and delicacy, not without a touch of humour.

Mélanie wanted to play down Alzheimer’s disease through an amusing and touching comedy”, explains Amandine Jarnoux, production manager on the film, shot over seven days in the Nantes region.

Amandine particularly enjoyed shooting this film as part of her final year at CinéCréatis, and saw it as a kind of culmination of her three-year Audiovisual Designer-Directorcourse.

It’s certainly the most formative experience we’ve ever had,” says the former student, who also has a passion for rhythmic gymnastics. It was the culmination of a 3-year apprenticeship, the moment when everything came together.

The team worked together towards the same goal: to make the best film possible while training for the job you dream of doing for the rest of your life. It’s a great way to finish your studies: a practical project that gives you a much better grasp of the job that awaits you when you graduate.

Coeur De Chou

The icing on the cake is that “the film was very well received. The professionals were very sympathetic. They were very curious to discover what we had to offer and say. We were awarded the “Prix de la mise en scène” and the “Coup de Cœur CinéCréatis” at the Grand Prix Cinécréatis 2017″.
