Charlotte Robb

After the CinéCréatis years

Professional career

After completing her studies at CinéCréatis, she moved to Paris, where she managed to obtain casual status after just one year. Since then, she has worked mainly as a production and casting manager at Purprod, a company specialising in TV content. This has enabled her to develop her professional experience on TV programmes for young people, brand content, advertising and reports. Prior to this full-time position (2016/2018), and with her Swiss Army knife profile, she had worked on a series of shoots as a location manager, script girl, camera operator and editor, notably at Coyote, Christophe Dechavanne’s production company.

A love of storytelling!

His former project

In 2015, she founded Miss Book with Nawal Stouli, a digital producer. It’s a humorous YouTube channel dedicated to literary criticism, with 28k subscribers.

Now

Today, alongside her work as a production manager, she continues to write, direct and edit episodes for Miss Book, which was awarded the CNC ‘Young Talent’ grant in April. This substantial financial support enabled them to produce 8 videos in two months, based on novels on the bac syllabus, to help baccalaureate students revise for the 2018 French bac.

What training has she undergone?

“Passionate about series, at the end of 2017 I trained as a scriptwriter specialising in the serial format. On the strength of this experience, I have since been working on several series projects (comedy, crime) and brand content around the world of Poker. In June 2018, I organised a two-week writers’ residency in the countryside, to enable around ten writers to make progress on their respective projects, while benefiting from the group effect, which is super stimulating! I’m very keen on directing actors, and I’m also planning to get back to my theatrical family to resume the activities of the Théâtre de l’Improviste.

In conclusion

In the end, whether it’s for film, television, digital or theatre… What I want is to tell stories.

Back to the CinéCréatis years

CinéCréatis gave me everything I expected from a film school: technical training and a human adventure.

The advantage is that you have access to equipment and, more importantly, to internships! In my opinion, this is the best way to enter the professional world. Students need to make the most of the opportunity to meet professionals and prove themselves in the field. It was my work placements at Gaumont TV and AH! Production that enabled me to find work quite quickly after CinéCréatis.
