1 and 2 July 2026 mark a moment eagerly awaited by CinéCréatis students: the official launch of the CinéCréatis Jury, an unmissable event that brings to a close three intense years of learning, creativity and passion for cinema and the audiovisual arts.

Over two days, students from the Lyon, Bordeaux, Montpellier and Nantes campuses will present the fruits of their labour to an exceptional jury comprising recognised professionals from the audiovisual industry. This is a decisive milestone – as demanding as it is moving – which symbolises their entry into the professional world.

Two decisive days for the students

The Cinécréatis Jury takes place across two complementary key stages, enabling the assessment of both individual skills and the collaborative work carried out throughout their course.

Day 1: the ‘Research and Creation’ oral examination

On this first day, students give an individual oral presentation focusing on their role within their ‘Research and Creation’ project.

This presentation enables the jury to assess each student’s artistic and technical thinking, their understanding of production challenges, their analytical skills, and their creative and professional vision. Every specialism essential to film-making is represented.

Day 2: the collective assessment of the final-year films

The second day is devoted to the collective assessment of the final-year films produced by the graduating cohorts.

These projects represent the culmination of three years of work, experimentation and collaboration. They demonstrate not only the high artistic and technical standards achieved by the students, but also their ability to work as a team in conditions similar to those in the professional world.

The jury assesses the quality of the direction, art direction, storytelling, cinematography, editing, visual effects and the overall coherence of the productions.

A jury comprising recognised professionals

As it does every year, Cinécréatis brings together a prestigious jury comprising professionals from various sectors of the film and audiovisual industries.

Among them are producers, directors, assistant directors, VFX supervisors, camera operators, directors of photography and numerous other industry experts.

Their presence lends a particularly significant dimension to this event. Students have the opportunity to present their work to practising professionals, to exchange views with them and to receive valuable feedback on their creations and their future in the audiovisual industry.

A celebration of students’ journeys, shown in cinemas across the cities

Following the assessments, each campus organises a major screening showcasing the projects completed over the three years of study.

These screenings, held in iconic cinemas in the cities where the campuses are located, give students, families, teaching staff and industry professionals the chance to discover the work completed throughout the course.

In Bordeaux, the UGC Ciné Cité Bassins à Flot will host a screening of 12 short films, including one final-year project.

In Montpellier, the Pathé Odysseum will screen 22 short films, including two graduation films.

In Lyon, the Pathé Vaise will screen 16 short films, including one graduation film.

Finally, in Nantes, the UGC Ciné Atlantis will be showing 20 short films, including two graduation films.

A symbolic and deeply moving moment

The Cinécréatis Jury represents much more than a simple academic assessment. It marks the end of an important chapter in the students’ lives and the start of their professional journey in film and the audiovisual sector.

After three years of filming, nights spent editing, collaborative projects, technical challenges and artistic experimentation, this event celebrates the commitment, progress and passion of an entire cohort.

For many, these two days will remain one of the most memorable moments of their time at Cinécréatis.

It’s D-Day, and the event is now underway: the campuses in Lyon, Bordeaux, Montpellier and Nantes will be buzzing with the excitement of cinema, creativity and emotion…
