FIFIB: 15 years of independent cinema in Bordeaux
From 2 to 7 November 2026, the Bordeaux International Independent Film Festival (FIFIB) will celebrate its 15th edition. Every year, the festival showcases independent cinema through a programme that highlights creativity, diverse perspectives and new voices in film. An unmissable event for film enthusiasts, FIFIB brings cinema to life in all its forms and fosters connections between films, industry professionals and the public.
Cinécréatis and the FIFIB: a renewed partnership to pass on filmmaking expertise
To mark this year’s festival, CinéCréatis is renewing its partnership with the FIFIB and continuing its commitment to introducing young people to careers in film and passing on technical skills. To bring this collaboration to life, the two partners are offering a day of practical workshops, designed to give young people a hands-on insight into what goes on behind the scenes of a film shoot.
The event will take place on 7 November 2026 in Bordeaux, for an immersive day dedicated to filmmaking!
A day of workshops to put theory into practice
From 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, at the TNBA (Théâtre National Bordeaux Aquitaine) Library, participants will be able to learn about several essential film-making techniques in a friendly and immersive atmosphere.
On the programme:
- Editing and setting up a camera rig: discovering the equipment and familiarising yourself with filming tools.
- Setting up and adjusting lighting: understanding how light helps to create an atmosphere and shape an image.
- An introduction to light rigging: exploring the equipment used to facilitate camera movements and contribute to the staging.
This day will offer the chance to handle professional equipment, experiment with different techniques and gain a better understanding of the professions that bring images to life. A first hands-on introduction for those wishing to explore the world of cinema and considering a career in the industry.
