Immerse yourself in the reality of the set
Produced as part of the first-year course at CinéCréatis, Lettre à un père is part of the “Mini-court” project, a pivotal event in which students apply all the skills they have acquired since the start of the academic year. In just a few months, they move from theory to practice, taking charge of every aspect of a production: writing, directing, lighting, sound, set design and editing.
More than just an academic exercise, this mini-short was a plunge into the reality of the stage, where each student had to find their place, coordinate their actions with the others and deal with the unexpected, both technical and artistic. It was a real collective laboratory, combining rigour, creativity and mutual support.
An intimate story set against the backdrop of war
Directed by Constance Bigey, this film seeks to convey raw, authentic emotions.
Le Mini-court tells the story of the inner struggle of Arthur, a young soldier in the Second World War who is about to leave for the front. Before leaving his family, he tries to write a letter to his father. But the words refuse to come. The fear of dying without having spoken clashes with the equally violent fear of revealing himself. Between tensions, regrets and memories, writing becomes a test as formidable as the war itself.
