Asia Argento

  • thème Let's meet
  • date 10.10.2006

Jean-Marc Vigouroux, a teacher at CinéCréatis, met Asia Argento. Daughter of Dario Argento, one of the masters of the Italian erotic-horrific thriller, she talks about her atypical artistic career.

Immersed in the world of the silver screen from an early age, the beautiful Asia first joined a film set at the age of 9. A world she has never left since, exploring different angles.

Starting out as an actress, she moved behind the camera, taking with her a dark, heavy, almost disturbing world. From independent films to blockbusters, Asia Argento sails to her heart’s content.
She recalls her experience with Tony Gatlif: “He’s the only one who knows the whole script, but he makes you feel so confident that you’re ready to become the musical instrument he’s going to play with. You know that the melody will be magnificent

From her filmography, Asia Argento retains more the human experience, the exchange, the life lesson. Like “Transylvania”, for example, and her encounter with the gypsy people, which took her back to her origins. Eclectic and curious, Asia Argento is now trying her hand at music. Live mixes that also surprise: “It’s become a war, but alone against everyone!
